Elements of the Sensorial curriculum:

concrete to abstract
hand to mind
motor to cognitive
exploration to mastery

Sensorial exercises are the heart of Montessori.  Children learn about the world around them through their senses.  Children’s senses are at their peak of development between the ages of 2 ½ and 5 years old.  Human development occurs through freedom and environmental experience.  The child refines his abilities through problem solving, reasoning, discrimination, comparison, and observation.

Sensorial lessons help bring a child’s body in tune with the thoughts in their head.
